A new work being developed for the ISLANDS project, a series of five film and video installations by six screen artists (Audrey Lam, Alena Lodkina, Joseph London, Kenta McGrath, Curtis Taylor and Vladimir Todorovic), each focusing on a particular island or set of islands in Western Australia. [Mon-te-be-ro] focuses on the Montebello Islands, a remote archipelago lying 120 kilometres off the coast of north-western Australia that gained notoriety in the 1950s as a site for British nuclear testing (the remnants of which still remain today).
